I was watching shocking visuals in the news channel of stranded pilgrims in Badrinath and I still do not know why all these people go to places like these to end up in situations like this. Yes, the might have got excuses to visit all these 'holey' (leaky) places ! And of course our government and the religious bodies also do have their excuses for allowing such number of pilgrims to go to one place which is not ready for a high number of crowds.
Two or three years ago a similar disaster happened in Sabarimala (Kerala) where a lot of people got killed because stampede. Then also we spoke about how to prevent accidents like these and it has not given any result. In the wake of all these accidents
I must emphasize the importance of disaster management team in a thickly populated country like India where a disaster is prone to happen every now and then. But the tragedy is that our National Disaster Management Team is a disaster itself. I do not know who is going to rescue them from the disaster they are in ! I must also touch up on a very important point here, it is nothing but the looting of our nationals resources by the rich and influence people with the help of local politicians in the name of development ! Coal mines, irrigation projects, hydroelectric projects also placed a spoil sport in the Utharakand tragedy.
So my dear Government and Bureaucrats, please Jaago ! Wake up, it's high time !
